So, What's Up?     I've been working a lot on the outline of my sequel and another character sketch, this time of a dragon. I'm in need of another big phototshop project. Some time ago I started making a map of TriCora, a fictional world in a pocket dimension featured in my story. I've been using real satellite photos, cutting out the coasts and pasting them together in fictional formations to create realistic coastlines for the three continents. I might follow up on that. With both projects I'll post results once I have them. Thanks for being patient.
Lengthy Art Projects      I'm still figuring out how to format this blog. My aim is to produce content at a steady rate but certain art projects, like painting the bouquet I sketched, are proving to be very time consuming. Rather than put full projects into one daily post, I'm considering making several update posts followed by one final overview of the project.      For now I'm continuing to paint over my bouquet sketch with a tablet on phototshop. Photoshop uses layers and this makes painting very convenient because I needn't worry about paints running together and can simply paint one flower at a time. First I painted the green leaves for a background and proceeded to create layers over that. With many flowers I would paint the shadowy back petals first than the illuminated ones on top of them. Please be patient as I hope to have results soon although there is still much to be done.
Building a Blog (update)     Now that my blog is setup and I've added some content I'm ready to make it grow. It's important to use "evergreen" content or posts that won't become obsolete with old references. Make the blog stay fresh for new readers.     The next step is getting the word out on social media; something I am notoriously bad at. I don't expect the blog to grow fast. Most people wait over eight months before making a single cent. But hopefully in time it will snowball.     I'll of course continue to add posts and am ever drawing closer to having my book published. That will allow a lot of content about my world I'm not able to publish yet. If you like my work please help it grow. Thanks.
Introduction (Why I'm Here)     Hi, I'm Matthew. I've written a sci-fi book "Rainbows Wane", the first in my "Signature" series. It's coming along great. I have the bones laid and am in the process of fleshing out and publishing it. There's much work to be done.       You've probably heard horror stories about trying to get published like how "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole wasn't published until eleven years after his suicide in a tragic tale. Writing is filled with uncertainty and putting your heart, your work for thousands of hours, on the line. Even if you get published you're far from guaranteed to make money. But fret not, due to the age of information, times are changing. Self publishing and selling on platforms like Kindle and Amazon are viable options. There are many ways to promote your book and yourself as a writer. Such are in my process of exploration.      I am taking an advanced approach to en...
